Green Birthday Party Planner
So, today’s my birthday and being that I like to post about birthday stuff for said birthday, let’s look at some ways to have a fab birthday while keeping it eco-friendly.
First some old school links and tips… Last year, actually the entire time I was blogging over at Tree Hugging Family, I’d get a little birthday crazy from time to time. All of the posts are worth a look if I do say so myself 
- Eco-friendly themed birthday cakes! Fun galore. Or maybe you’d just like a nature themed cake? Plus if you need the actual cake take a peek at some amazing organic birthday cake recipes. Lastly in the cake department, you could always make a cupcake tree.

I’ve covered a lot about green birthdays in the posts linked above, but one thing we haven’t looked at recently is where to find amazing eco-friendly birthday decor and gear for say green goodie bags. It can be tough to find real green goods, and frankly there aren’t many places to find nice green birthday supplies, but there are some. If you’re shopping for a green party take a look at the following stores…
For sweet organic treats that can be served instead of cake OR offered up as birthday goodie bag fodder, try Beautiful Sweets – an all green, all organic bakery with amazingly pretty cookies. Two of their pretty birthday cookie sets are shown above but you won’t believe how many cookie styles they have to choose from.
For gifts, favors, decor and more Green Party Supplies has you covered, although as with all shops make sure you review the product – simply being sold by a green party store doesn’t make an item perfectly eco-friendly. At most green party shops online I’ve seen some not so green as I’d like items.
For candy favors or treats visit the Natural Candy Store which is chock full of organic, vegan, kosher, and natural candy goodness.
Green Planet Parties is eco-goodie bag central. Lots of easy, ready made green goodie bags and other treats.
For a more gourmet, adult minded birthday treat visit Theo Chocolate, an organic chocolate shop (actually the first and only organic and Fair Trade chocolate factory in the country) who makes the most amazingly pretty chocolates (shown above).
Whimsy Press has a collection called Mixed Greens full of earth-friendly products such as birthday wrap and cards plus even some gifts.
Lagniappe is an excellent place to find reusable birthday gift wrap and reusable goodie bags as well.
For eco-friendly beverages I’d go with local and organic juices but if you can;t find that try some of the Santa Cruz Organic beverages. They get high marks from me and my eight year old so they’re adult and child-birthday party friendly.
