Full Moon Madness: Will Tonight’s Wolf Moon Cause Lunar Lunacy?


Thanks to rumors about a 13th astrological sign and new horoscope dates, even non-astrology buffs (ourselves included) have taken to debating the stars lately. But what about the moon? Tonight marks the first full moon of 2011, and we’re curious whether you believe that “full moon madness” will ensue. Many believe that women’s menstrual cycles are ruled by the moon; some believe that lunar cycles cause mischief and madness. We’re not sure where we stand (but we have experienced the whole menstrual-moon connection), so we did a little research to see if the moon seems to effect worldly happenings for the worse.

Astrology Zone: Are Horoscopes Worth Reading?


I don’t read my personal horoscope – I usually find them either too vague, or so specific that they become a self-fulfilling prophecy that I can’t forget until the next horoscope I read. But as much as I dismiss the futility of those crackpot paragraphs in the back of every free weekly, around I do find myself peeking at 2011 forecasts a lot lately. And when I’m in a new relationship, I inevitably head over to astrologyzone.com to plug in my new gent’s birth date to find out if my Virgo will jibe with his Pisces. Then there are those really shitty weeks when everything I plug into a wall seems to break, and I can usually find a website that faults Mercury rising (or some other planetary alignment that takes the spotlight off of how poorly I take care of my gadgets).
